With a lifespan equivalent to 900 standard AAA batteries, the CORE 2 is better for both the planet and your wallet. The battery fully charges in 3.5 hours and features an indicator light that indicates when it's all juiced up. The 1250 mAh capacity holds plenty of power for extended adventures, and the battery can be field swapped for a fully charged backup from your pack if you forgot to charge it.
